作者简介： 水野宏美（Hiromi Mizuno,1969—），1969年出生于日本大阪，1990—1992年间就读于美国欧柏林学院，1993年于大阪大学取得美国研究方向的文学学士学位，1995年于美国伊利诺伊大学取得文学硕士学位，2001年于加州大学洛杉矶分校取得历史学博士学位。现为明尼苏达大学文理学院亚洲与中东研究部副教授。主要研究领域为现代日本、性别和性、知识和文化历史、科学技术文化研究、民族主义和殖民主义、人权和国际法、饮食与农业史等。 译者简介： 薛雅婷，1996年生人，女。现为南开大学日本研究院在读博士生。研究方向为日本科技史。本科就读于四川大学历史文化学院，硕士就读于南开大学日本研究院，硕士毕业论文题为《三枝博音的技术史研究（1930s—1945）》。
